Good counselling shouldn't depend on who you know.
For a student applying abroad, the difference between a good outcome and a lost year is often a single well-briefed counsellor, and there have never been enough of them. Cubico exists to change that arithmetic: give one counsellor the prep of a whole research team, so many more students get the attention that used to be reserved for a few.
One counsellor could only ever help so many students.
A great counsellor isn't slow because they lack skill. They're slow because the work in front of every student is enormous: read the programmes, check the entry requirements, weigh the cost, understand the post-study routes, and only then sit down to advise.
Do that by hand and the maths is brutal: the research caps how many students one person can serve well, so the deepest counselling has always gone to whoever could afford the most hours. We thought the fix wasn't to remove the counsellor, but to remove the hours of preparation standing between them and a good conversation.
Hours per student on research, spreadsheets and half-current data, all before the conversation even begins.
- The prep arrives already assembled and dated
- Every match shows its reasoning, not a mystery score
- The counsellor spends the session on judgement
Six principles we treat as rules, not slogans.
These aren't aspirations we hope to live up to. They're hard rules written into how Cubico is built: the guardrails that keep the product honest when it would be easier not to be.
A human stays accountable
A real counsellor is responsible for every student. The AI compresses the prep and drafting; it never makes the call and never replaces the person.
Scores explain themselves
Fit is scored by deterministic code on eight real signals, then explained in plain words. No naked percentage: you can read the reasoning and challenge it.
Students are never the product
We do not sell student access to universities, and there is no pay-to-rank. Who fits is decided by the data and the counsellor, not by who is paying.
Your voice stays yours
The AI drafts outlines and timelines, not finished essays. A student's story is theirs to tell. We help them structure it, never ghost-write it.
Verified beats scraped
Data is programme- and round-grain, dated and sourced. When a counsellor's correction disagrees with a scraper, the counsellor wins, every time.
We stay in our lane
No automated application submission, and no visa or immigration advice. We give students information and preparation; regulated advice stays with the people licensed to give it.
Universities anywhere, understood to the programme.
Students go all over the world, and we match them all over the world. What we refuse to do is be vague about it: entry requirements, costs and post-study routes are specific to a course and an intake, and getting them slightly wrong is worse than useless. It's the kind of mistake that costs a family a year.
So the standard is depth, not reach. Every fact carries a date and a source, sits on the programme rather than the university, and can be overruled by the counsellor who knows better. That includes the local ground we work on: we know the Pakistani school calendar, what a degree really costs a family here, and how UCAS timing collides with board exams.
Requirements at programme grain
Offers, cutoffs and test minimums belong to a programme and its intake round, never to a university average. Two courses at the same university can ask for completely different things, and we store them that way.
Cost as a family actually pays it
Tuition, living costs and the funding genuinely open to an international student, shown in the currency the decision gets made in, so nobody falls in love with a number that was never the real one.
Post-study routes, per programme
What a graduate is allowed to do next differs by country and often by course, so we weigh the route that applies to that programme. We give information, never visa or immigration advice.
One named counsellor, and the work that backs them up.
We're a small team building in the open, so this describes the roles around a student rather than posing as a bigger company. Named profiles will go up as we grow. What doesn't change is the first one: every student has a counsellor whose name they know, who is accountable for their applications.
Your counsellor
The named human accountable for your applications. They review the shortlist, the outlines and the timeline before any of it reaches you, and they are the one you argue with.
The data behind the match
Someone owns every fact: programme- and round-grain, dated and sourced. When a counsellor's correction disagrees with a scraper, the correction is what you see.
The engineering underneath
The scoring is ordinary deterministic code, so the same profile gets the same answer twice. The AI only renders the words that explain a score, never the number itself.
Built for every destination, and for you.
Spend about 15 minutes on the intake and meet the universities that actually fit, with a counsellor beside you the whole way.
